Ondine, the water nymph

An undine, or ondine in French, is a water nymph that dwells in forest ponds and waterfalls. Representing the feminine element and residing in their own secret realm of nature, these mystical beings frequently appear in poetry and art, particularly during the Art Nouveau movement. The enchanting aesthetics of this era, combined with the magic of these liminal creatures, serve as the inspiration for the design and theme of our first collection.

Artworks as gifts

Every item is carefully designed and crafted by hand for the majority, or produced in very small quantity. Our goal is to create objects that are sometimes useful, always soulful. Art should be something to gift yourself or others, and bring someting special to your everyday. As Ondine evolves, we are committed to implement a focus on sustainability.

About

I’m Emilie, the founder and artist behind Ondine. I am a Swiss architect and illustator, I grew up in Lausanne and am currently living in Zürich.

Inspired by my love for illustration and graphic design, I set out to create everyday items that spark imagination and stand out from the sea of mass-produced products. My goal is to capture the magic of nature’s simple wonders -like the glimmering reflections on a waterfront- in each of my creations.

Thank you for visiting this new boutique; I hope you enjoy exploring it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
