About Ondine's Letter Club

Why the "Letter Club"

The idea behind the Letter Club is simple: I wanted to bring back that excitment of finding something personal and unexpected in your mailbox. Something you take the time to open, to hold in your hands, and to explore. Emails are fine for work — but the sound of breaking a wax seal, the texture of the paper, and the feeling of receiving a letter written just for you...

I could have called it a sticker club, Snail Mail or an illustration club, but the letter is the heart of the project — so, Letter Club it is.

Why stickers?

Unlike prints or postcards, which need space on your walls, stickers can go almost anywhere: in notebooks, scrapbooks, moodboards, on your laptop, bike, or water bottle.

They allow me to explore different sizes, textures and finishes - like tracing paper, metallic foil, or holographic effects - while sending you a small, hand-drawn surprise every month. (Note: not all stickers will be waterproof, but I’ll mention that in the letter when it matters.)

Why an illustrated card deck?

I grew up with Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards, spending hours admiring the artwork, redrawing them (I never knew to actually play the game they come from!). I wanted to capture that same sense of discovery and collection — something playful and nostalgic.

Each month, you’ll get one card featuring a mythical creature. Over time, the deck will grow. You can play with them, display them, or collect them like little art pieces. I’m using the French playing card format, since it’s the most universal — and yes, you can absolutely play Yass or poker with them.

You’ll need a collector’s patience to complete the deck… and I’ll need some time to draw them all.

Why wax seals?

I’m a romantic at heart, and I love old-fashioned details. I tried writing with a feather, too messy, but wax seals? They’re beautiful, tactile, and instantly transform a simple envelope into something precious and mysterious.

Each one is hand-poured by me, inspired by the seasons.

In the end, the Letter Club is a quiet space to share handmade art — not through screens, but through paper and ink, surprise and care. I hope it brings a little wonder into your month.
